Lovinger Family Internship Fund Application 2023-2024

Undergraduate students interested in media-related careers are encouraged to apply for a stipend through the Lovinger Family Internship Fund. Recipients will be awarded up to $5,000 to help offset the costs of un(der)paid internships or programs. Several factors, including financial need, location, hours per week, and anticipated graduation date determine award amounts.

Along with submitting your application materials on Handshake, you must fill out this form to be considered for a complete submission.

Applicants may apply prior to receiving an internship offer but must have secured an offer in writing by April 5, 2024, before the award will be processed. A complete application includes uploading a resume via Handshake, an internship description, a 200-300 word essay on what you hope to learn through this experience, and a proposed budget (e.g., transportation to the city, housing, daily transportation). Applicants must be current Vanderbilt undergraduate students returning full-time for at least one undergraduate semester in the fall after their internship or program.

Disqualifiers
- Internships that are shorter than 6 weeks
- Internships secured through a private internship program or broker (ex: City Internships)
- Students working on a political campaign are not eligible

Application period: September 22, 2023 - April 5, 2024
Application review: April 8 – 17, 2024
Award notification: By May 1, 2024

*Note: If you are applying to help fund your Vandy on Madison Avenue trip, you are not required to submit the essay.
