Cox Communications: GAMING Case Competition

Do you want the chance to win a Nintendo Switch, spend A Day with Cox, AND compete in our first-ever Gaming-themed case competition? Then look no further...

Cox Communications/Enterprises is hosting a unique GAMING Case Competition on Friday, March 31, 2023. The competition case study encourages participants to think critically and strategically about how to improve business operations, specifically in the world of tech, gaming, and telecommunications.

As sponsors, Cox will provide the case, as well as judge the competition!



The Winning Team:


  • All four (4) members of the winning team will receive a Nintendo Switch!
  • Additionally, a trek to Atlanta to spend a day with Cox's Innovation/Gaming Team (the date for the trek is TBD).





Expectations:


  • Student teams must be comprised of four (4) undergraduate members
  • Teams must apply via Handshake
  • Accepted teams will receive notice of participation on Monday, March 27, 2023.
  • Qualifying teams will receive the business case scenario on March 29 and present their solutions to a panel of Cox judges on Friday, March 31, at a location on campus.
  • Your team presentation must be emailed to committee members (emails below) by the deadline: on or before Thursday, March 30, 2023, 11:59 PM. Failure to do so will result in automatic team disqualification.
  • Each selected team will present to a panel of judges on Friday, March 31. Your case will be distributed on Wednesday, March 29. You must pick it up your case packet from the Career Center between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. Each team will receive one packet each.




How to Apply:


  • Create a team of four (4) members following the aforementioned requirements:
  • Student teams must be comprised of four (4) undergraduate members, all majors/years accepted
  • Teams will submit one (1) application for all members.
  •  Create a PDF document that includes all four (4) team members resumes
  • Upload a Word document that includes answers to the following prompt questions. You only need one (1) document per team.

Answer the following questions as a team in 100 words or less:

      1. What unique skills or viewpoints comprise your team?
      2. What professional goals is your team trying to achieve? 
      3. How will your team benefit from participating in this competition?
