VANDY ON MADISON AVENUE SUMMER PROGRAM 2022-2023
VANDY ON MADISON AVENUE SUMMER PROGRAM
2022-2023 APPLICATION
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
This year’s Vandy on Madison Avenue (VMA) program will give students access to key employers in the Communications, Media, and Entertainment industry. New this year, the program now requires a two-part commitment. All selected students will be required to participate in a spring speaker series to be eligible to attend the on-site New York City trek in the early summer of 2023.
This spring, the program will entail a monthly virtual speaker series from January to April featuring key employers in the Media & Arts field. Attending these one-hour virtual information and networking events are a required part of the Vandy on Madison Avenue program. Students must attend at least 3 out of the 4 speaker sessions which will be held Wednesdays from 5:30 pm CT – 6:30 pm CT once a month. The planned dates for these speakers are January 25, February 22, March 29, and April 19.
Shortly after the spring semester, we will host a two-day trek in New York City for students from Wednesday, May 24 to Thursday, May 25, 2023. This is an exciting opportunity to experience New York City with peers and gain industry knowledge from alumni and professionals.
- Day 1: Wednesday, May 24, will focus on opportunities at NBC Universal, including job-shadowing opportunities alongside NBC employees and a panel of alumni.
- Day 2: Thursday, May 25, we will tour three different New York City offices related to the Communication or Entertainment industries. The event will conclude in the evening with a VMA networking event featuring Vanderbilt alumni and key NYC employers. Participants will be provided with or reimbursed for inter-city travel.
*IMPORTANT: Limited funding is available for flights, and overnight hotel stays for students who will not be in the New York City metro area but are interested in participating in the VMA program. Please complete the Lovinger Family Fund application in Handshake (ID #7053187) by the deadline (11/27) to be considered for financial assistance. Notifications of application status and financial award will be provided at the same time.
